have nowhere to turn 的nowwhere 和 turn 的使用方法剖析

老师你好，请问Someone travelingalone,if hungry,injured,or ill,often had nowhere to turn except to the nearest cabin or settlement.

分析说turn to是求助于的意思，那为何不写成have nowhere to turn to呢？

nowhere是副词，它可以做have 和turn to 的宾语吗，朗文字典有一个例句是 I have no job and nowhere to live.这里的nowhere是副词，它如何可以跟job并列呢？

except 直接加后面的the nearest cabin or settlement 可以吗，为何要用except to 呢？

1）nowhere， 你看到的字典只列其为副词，并导致了你的困惑。但不少字典已将nowhere列为代词或名词（但我觉得依旧保留了副词的特质，基因在里面）

2）I have nowhere to live，将它视为名词,to live修饰nowhere，内部含有状语关系。这同时讲解了为何nowhere to turn后面不加to，由于是内部的状语关系，不是动宾关系

3）except作为介词或连词，后面接续的内容很广，可以是名词（动名词）/介词短语/wh+或that+从句，举下例子，He gave an apple to everyone, except to me. 这里to me的to不可以省。这句的原理和你问题中的是一样的。
